I LOVED this book. I loved Alex's spunk and her intelligence. So many romance novels have the lead female being somewhat "simple" or doing stupid things because they are not sure if the male loves her.. OH PLEASE!! This book was nothing like that. I'm definitely going to check out more from this author and hopefully she will write/has already written a follow up book about them going back to OC and maybe a story about Jess, Carl, Emma and Blackie... I really want Jim and Blackie to mend their relationship.This one is a keeper and a re-read for sure!!

This book has an intriguing plot with well established characters. A must read for any romance and western book lover!
Holy smoking barrels, what a great read! Marshal Black is everything you could imagine in a man smart, sexy, honest, and just a little bit ornery. He is the perfect foil for the sweet, intriguing, and beautiful Alex. There are so many wonderful things about this book. The writing is smooth and paints a vivid picture of the west and the troubles faced by the brave people that started lives out there. The author intertwines mystery, romance, and treachery into a page turning read. The West blazes to life with each character in the book. The bad guys are terribly bad and the good guys are extraordinary. You can picture this up on the big screen as an old fashioned western; with gunslingers, outlaws, stolen kisses and a high drama trial, there is absolutely nothing missing. As the story draws to a close you will find yourself wishing for more and looking for the next story from Ms. Starmer. - Helen Ruby
The sky is overcast and we're expecting rain. Don't really want to get out in the weather, so I think I'll just settle down with a hot cup of coffee and a good book. This is how my morning began, and I picked up the book I recently purchased from titled "Angel and the Lawman". My morning was spent consumed in this beautiful story created by author Barbara W. Starmer. Her book, "Angel and the Lawman" is a story that gives you so much detail that you can literally feel as though you are right there with the characters of the old west. This is a must read, and an awesome gift to friends. Whether you're an avid reader, or don't read often, this is one that will give you hours of pleasure. "Angel and the Lawmen" is such an easy read and I will give it an enthusiastic "5+ Stars". (Angel and the Lawman would make a great Movie!) Thanks for the incredible morning and I look forward to the next book written by Barbara W. Starmer.
